Toronto HPB Fellowship Matches Dr. Chaya Shwaartz

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Chaya Shwaartz will begin her Fellowship with the HPB Surgical Oncology Program in 2019. Future co-fellow, Dr. Christopher Shubert, commences his Fellowship in Toronto this August.

Senior Fellow, Juan Echeverri, Receives UHN Teaching Award

Juan Echeverri is the recipient of this year’s Paddy Lewis Award for excellence in teaching at the University Health Network. This annual award is named after Dr. Frederick Ira Lewis, who enrolled in Medical School at the University of Toronto in 1917 after being wounded at Vimy Ridge. Dr. Lewis went on to become a respected surgeon and well-loved teacher for over 40 years.  His students called him “Uncle Paddy”....
